The
KMD Foundation is happy to contribute to the success and detailed
research of the documentary film: “Citizen Vaclav Havel
Works in a Brewer.,” Co-produced
by Jan Novak and Adam Novak, the film is scheduled to open on November
12 in the Czech Republic as a part of the Pallasfest.
The filmmakers Jan and Adam Novak
describe the importance of their work: “Václav Havel is the retired president of the
Czech Republic. He was a playwright, an essayist and the country’s
most famous dissident before leading the Velvet Revolution of 1989
which ended four decades of totalitarian rule in Czechoslovakia…Back
then Václav Havel and his fellow dissidents led stressful
lives as try-to-live-in-truth misfits in a corrupt and comatose
society and it has taken its toll on them. Many of them have already
died and the time is running out to capture the rhythms, the humor,
the pathos, and the sheer absurdity of that brutal period in the
words of those who had lived it with gritted teeth.” |
