The Kristyna M. Driehaus Foundation awarded a 3-year grant to support
the International Collaborative for Public Health Emergency Preparedness
(ICPHEP) initiative. This cooperative endeavor involves academic
institutions in the US and Czech Republic that are ready to engage
in innovative educational programs designed to address the challenges
of international public health emergency preparedness. The ICPHEP
thrives to be a model for preparing public health professionals,
faculty and students to meet the present threats of an avian influenza
pandemic as well as the ever-present specter of a natural or man-made
disaster, a bioterrorism threat or event, or a radiological or nuclear
incident.
